. On-Grid Solar System

An On-Grid Solar System is connected to the electricity grid. Solar panels generate electricity, and extra power can be exported to the grid.

  • Battery: Usually not required.
  • Works: With the electricity grid.
  • Advantage: Lower installation cost.
  • Disadvantage: Usually does not work during a power cut without special backup equipment.

2. Off-Grid Solar System

An Off-Grid Solar System works independently of the electricity grid. It uses solar panels, a solar inverter, and batteries to store electricity.

  • Battery: Required.
  • Works: Without a grid connection.
  • Advantage: Can provide electricity in remote areas.
  • Disadvantage: Higher installation cost because batteries are needed.

Main Difference: On-grid systems are connected to the electricity grid, whereas off-grid systems use batteries to provide power independently.
