Board Assembly Project
Required Materials:
- Switch
- Wire
- Socket
- Indicator
- Fuse, etc.
1) Switch:
An electric switch is a device that interrupts the flow of electrons in a circuit. Switches are primarily mechanical devices.
- A switch can either be fully on or off, and the design of a light switch is simple. When the switch is off, the circuit is broken.
- In three-way circuits, there are two separate switches that control the same device, while a dimmer circuit only controls the amount of electricity.
2) Wire:
For wiring, we mainly use four types of wires: red, black, blue, and green.
- Red Wire: This wire is used in the phase where the electric current flows, and if you touch it with an electric tester, the tester should light up.
- Black Wire: This wire is used as neutral or sometimes known as the cold wire, and it connects to the board only when we are installing a 5-pin socket.
- Green Wire: This wire is used for grounding or earthing, and it is rarely used in homes.
- Blue Wire: This wire can also be used when connecting to an inverter. For inverter wiring, you can choose this color wire.
3) Socket:
This is a five-pin socket, where we charge our mobile devices. It is generally 6 amps, but if you are running a device with a higher load, use a 16 amps socket like the switch, as it can handle a higher load.
4) Indicator:
The indicator is used to show if there is an electric supply in the board.
5) Fuse:
Fuses are used to prevent short circuits on the board. When someone first connects an electric device to the wiring board, we always add a fuse to the phase to ensure the connection is cut off in case of a short circuit, preventing any risk of electric shock.

Types of Wires:
Objective: Understanding the types of wires.
All Types of Wires:
- Single Core Wire: Includes three core, two core, four core, and multi-standard wire.
- Two Core Wire: Used for fuse and neutral connections, made of aluminum, and also multi-standard.
- Three Core Wire: Used for phase and neutral connections, made of aluminum, and used for connecting machines.
- Four Core Wire: These wires can be used for phase, neutral, or as one neutral for three phases.
