Today we had a very interesting and useful session on Basic Electrical at our institute. Our special guest and sir was Mr. Prakash Shah, the author of the Basic Electrical book. He explained the basic concepts of electricity in a very simple and easy way.

Sir explained the important I, E, R relationship in electricity. We learned that I means Current, E means Voltage and R means Resistance. The relationship between them is explained by Ohm’s Law: E = I × R. This helped us understand how current, voltage and resistance are connected in an electrical circuit.

Sir also explained the importance of electrical safety while doing any electrical work. We learned about electrical components such as fuses and their importance in safe wiring. A fuse protects electrical wiring and appliances from excessive current. Sir explained that proper fuse selection is very important for safe wiring. If the fuse rating is not suitable, it may not provide proper protection.

Another important topic was electric shock. We learned that an electric shock can happen when our body comes in contact with a live electrical wire or electrical source and current passes through our body. Wet hands, damaged wires, poor insulation and unsafe handling can increase the risk of electric shock.

Sir explained some simple ways to prevent electric shock, such as switching off the main power before working, using insulated tools, keeping hands dry, checking wires properly and using proper safety equipment.

Today’s session was very informative for us. We understood that electricity is very useful, but it can also be dangerous if we do not use it carefully. I learned many new things about electricity and electrical safety from Prakash Shah Sir. This session will definitely help us in our practical work and daily life.
